"It is an album collected by the late Alan Avery, who was killed while flying in a Meteor T7 (two-seater) with FLT LT Eric Johnston. The story is an interesting one in that Alan was due to be married two weeks later, and his fiancée was named Chloe, and his single-seat aircraft (you'll see the picture) was named after her. She was a dental nurse at Iwakuni, and the aircraft dived into the ocean off Japan whilst being couriered back to Japan. There was a large thunderstorm, apparently. The aircraft was one of two flying, the other piloted by Randall Green, a pilot who frequents the RAAF Museum, and lives about a mile from me. Randall was to be Alan's best man at the wedding." -- Steve Clements
