The photos were shared on Facebook by Stephen Tinius, honoring Lt. John Tinius. After the war, John Tinius went on a non-flying career as an engineer and manager on the Atlas booster, then NASA, then Systems Command. He retired as a Col. in 1976. He stayed on flight status mainly on the T-33. He swore his son Stephen in when he graduated from Ohio State in ROTC. John passed away at an early age of 66 due to cancer. John is referenced in Warren Thompson's book "F-86 SABRE Fighter-Bombers Over Korea" from I Osprey Aviation (p. 101). He was also referenced in the story "Buzz Job!" by Ebersole and Degner.
