Obituary: Donohue Funeral Home

Bruno A. Giordano, age 89, of Devon, PA, passed away on December 6, 2018.

Bruno A. Giordano had his photograph in the New York Times twice. First as a 16 year old Bronx Boy, he won the coveted Golden Gloves Heavyweight championship of N.Y.C. and then several years later as a young Lieutenant in Korea, he was pictured shooting down a Korean MIG on his birthday.

In 1951 he graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at WestPoint with a career of football and lacrosse. He received the distinguishable honor of becoming an “All American” lacrosse player of national fame.

He received his “wings” at Nellis A.F.B. in 1952 and enjoyed a very successful career as an F-86 fighter pilot and a proud member of the Sabre Jets. He obtained an MBA from Syracuse University and spent the next years in Satellite Control for the Air Force. In 1967 he became “Chief of Astronauts” for the Satellite Program.
